Swimsuit Measurements

Please take these measurement while wearing skin-tight clothing or underwear. If the suit is for a baby girl who will be wearing a diaper under her suit please measure her while she's wearing it. Enter your measurements into the box under your shopping cart.

Hold the tape measure smooth against your skin without pulling tight. Stand straight but naturally. I will make all the calculations for seam allowance and fabric stretch, but I can't do that accurately with inaccurate numbers!

I know there are a lot of these, but there is a lot of variation between sizes and I want your swim suit to fit perfectly.

Bust,
around the bust at the widest part. I'll also need your cup size.

Under bust
,
around the chest just below the bust. (Girls under about 11-12 years of age don't need to take this one.)

Waist,
around the waist at the narrowest part.

Hip
,
around the hips at the widest part looking from the front.

These are shown in the picture below, top to bottom.

Shoulder to under bust, waist, and hip
put the tape measure on the top of the shoulder--where the seam of most jumpers would be--and measure the distance to your under bust measurement, waist measurement, and hip measurement. Three measurements.

Waist to hip,
the distance between your waist measurment and your hip measurement.

Length of shorts and skirt

How long do you want your shorts and skirt? Measure from your waist to the places you want the hems to be. These two measurements are easier with help because it's hard to read the tape without bending over and distorting the measurement.

Leg opening at hem of shorts,
measure around your leg at the place you want the shorts to stop.

These are shown in this next picture. I have marked the original measurements too because some of these new ones measure the distances between the first ones.

Rise of shorts and panties,
Measure from the front waist down through the legs to the back waist. This is one of the hardest ones to take. You need to keep the tape smooth against your skin.
